KEPCO - time to sell Bylong land back to farmers!

KEPCO - time to sell Bylong land back to farmers!

Now that the South Korean Government has officially withdrawn its support for coal, it’s time to ask KEPCO to do the right thing and sell their land in the Bylong Valley back to farmers.

Can you send a digital postcard right now to KEPCO’s CEO and South Korea’s ambassador to Australia asking them to abandon their coal project and sell their land in the Bylong Valley to farmers, not to another coal company!

Please use your own words on the postcard, it only needs a sentence or two, and here are some ideas for the types of things you might want to say:

  • I welcome the strong leadership on climate by the South Korean Government this week in moving away from coal.

  • In light of this move, I’d like to see KEPCO follow suit and drop it’s plan for a damaging coal mine in the Bylong Valley, Australia and instead sell the land back for sustainable farming

  • Here is a chance for KEPCO to set an example for the rest of the coal industry to follow.

  • Please end the legal appeal on the project and instead step up to match the South Korean Government and become a climate leader by dropping this project.
